Mr. Zollie Leon Bowen Jr.
Mr. Zollie Leon Bowen Jr. , know to all as Lonnie, passed gently from this life on August 23, 2013 from complications related to a bone marrow transplant while in treatment for Leukemia.
Lonnie was born November 20, 1956 in Heard County, Georgia. He was the son of the late Zollie L. Bowen, Sr. and Eleanor Martin. He grew up in the Senoia and Turin communities of Coweta County and graduated from East Coweta High School. Upon completion of an associate's degree, he worked for The United States Postal Service for over 30 years. He was a member of Central Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Michele Thompson Bowen of Newnan; his daughters, Lindsey Bowen Mann (and husband Tyler) Mann of Atlanta and Jenna Bowen of Atlanta.
Two special grandchildren blessed his life, the twins Lowe and Grant Mann. He has five siblings; Jerry Poston, Richard (and Gloria) Poston, Brenda (and Bill) Todd, Kenny (and Sarah) Bowen, David (and Brenda) Bowen.
There is an extended family of nieces and nephews.
The memorial service for Lonnie will be on Tuesday, August 27, 2013 at 2:00 PM at Central Baptist Church in Newnan with Dr. Joel E. Richardson officiating.
