David Ring to lead Youth Rally at Westside

David Ring, a noted Christian evangelist and motivational speaker, will share his testimony at a Youth Rally set for Aug. 15 at Westside Baptist Church.

Ring, 55, is a nationally known motivational speaker. He has cerebral palsy, but leads a full life and encourages others to overcome the obstacles in their lives.

The Youth Rally will start at 2 p.m. The event is free. Advance seat registration for large groups is required by calling the church at 770-251-5333. Several youth groups have already committed to attend.

Ring will also be in the evening service on Sunday August 16th at 6:00 pm. Guests are invited to both events but the Saturday August 15th event is geared toward teenagers.

Ring was born with cerebral palsy and orphaned. He endured constant physical pain, humiliating public ridicule and constant discouragement.

Life was worse than hopeless to him until his relationship began with Jesus Christ. As a follow of Christ, Ring learned self-respect and acceptance of his physical challenges.

As a nationally known speaker since 1973, Ring shares his story with more than 100,000 people each year at churches, conventions, schools and corporate events. He has been featured on numerous occasions on several nationally televised programs.

Ring's book, "Just As I Am," tells about his heartaches and victories. He and his wife, Karen, live in Nashville, Tenn. They are the parents of four children -- April, Ashley, Nathan and Amy Joy.
